While this book uses commercial techniques, the application of those techniques can translate to eco dying in terms of how to think strategically about your design It also shared using flour as a resist, so it isn t all chemicals It covers just about everything you need to think about working with cloth adding color, removing color I didn t think of that making stamps and stencils, resists, screenprint and foiling and leafing it does a thorough job as far as I can tell on each section It talks about immersion and low water immersion dyeing and the results you can anticipate It also says keep careful records and notebooks on results on different fabrics For those who are into that, it gives helpful ways to think about catalogueing not my thing I m into the wabi sabi of it all.It also runs through troubleshooting in each of its sections. This is a good reference book for a dyer s library I got it used It isn t a front to back read, of at least for me a let s see what they have on x, and see what ideas it will spark.
